David Copperfield - Charles Dickens, David Gates I enjoyed reading this and as always Dickens characters are amazing and memorable.

On the other hand I found the plot weaker than some of his others. It was more episodic so I found it slightly slow going. This was particularly true at the beginning where every turn of fortune heaps more misery on poor Copperfield.

It also seemed a little more morally simplistic than some of his others. The bad people are pretty unremittingly bad and the good are angelic.

Lastly I thought the business with Dora dying so that he could get with Agnes seemed a little inappropriate.
