N or M? - Agatha Christie I actually read an earlier edition that doesn't seem to be on goodreads right now.

This book was written during war time and although it tries to overcome hatred of the enemy, it nonetheless engages in stereotypes particularly of Germans and British. It is thoroughly pro-British in a wartime way.

The plot is weak and based on a silly premise.

None of the characters is interesting.

There's at least one point where the book relies on a totally laughable occurrence to move the story forward.

Pretty much a crummy book all around.
