Into the Wild - Erin Hunter, Erin Hunter My kids are really into these books and wanted me to read one so I did. I thought it was ok. It suffers from pretty much all the defects that mass produced sci-fi fantasy writing suffers from, but I still liked reading it well enough. I thought it was interesting how cat-like she kept them. The details of fights and hunting all seemed to me to remain firmly in the world of cat stuff. One weird thing was that I found it kind of distracting that their world is so limited and is intersected by human stuff that is clearly bigger or more powerful than them and their world. It made them seem a little small and ridiculous. The other thing was how negative the book was toward pets and pet owning. Seemed unnecessary.
